 Jay Byrne was a basketball scoring machine who led the Falcons to the Class A State Championship in 1982. He was a dominant performer in the Class A tournament that year, garnering the tournament most valuable player award.
Jay is Fenwick's all-time leading scorer with 1,963 points, scoring in double figures seventy-six consecutive games. He was a First Team MML performer as a sophomore, junior, and senior. Additional honors include Associated Press First Team All-Ohio as a junior and senior, Southwest District Player of the Year as a junior and senior, District 15 Coaches First Team(two years), Cincinnati Post All-Area First Team(two years), and Hamilton Golden Triangle First Team(three years). |
