Rick Ernst helped set the standard for post play at Fenwick as one of the Falcon's most talented big men. Rick earned three varsity letters and started 43 games for the Falcons as a junior and senior, scoring in double figures in 36 of those games. He averaged 16.3 points and 13.3. rebounds over his sterling career, capped when the Falcons claimed a share of the Southwest Ohio Conference title and set a school standard for victories(16) in the 1962-1963 season.
Rick had a penchant for scoring critical baskets, thrice hitting baskets at the final buzzer to defeat top opponents during his senior campaign. He was named 1st team All SOC and honorable mention All-State(Class A, in two class system) for the 1962-1963 season. |
