Carolyn Long is, quite simply, the most-decorated athlete in Fenwick history. She was a standout in soccer and basketball, but she truly excelled as a track athlete. She is a nine-time state champion in track(fifth most titles among Ohio athletes all-time), earning First Team All-League, All-Cincinnati, and All State honors all four years. She led the Falcon women to a State runner-up finish in 1991 and the Division III State Track Championship in 1993. Among her track titles are three straight individual championships in the 800-meter run and a four-year sweep as the anchor of Falcon 4x800 meter relay teams. Carolyn's track coach, Susan Braun, remembers that 'Carolyn was not only a state championship runner with a great amount of natural talent, but she also displayed leadership and sportsmanship. She always completed her workouts to the best of her ability and encouraged the younger runners to do the same. At meets, even though she was a tough competitor, she would congratulate other runners on their efforts.' Carolyn also earned First Team All-League status in soccer for three years, All Miami Valley 2nd Team in 1992, and Academic All State in her senior season. The Lady Falcon soccer squad finished as Regional runner-up in 1991. She also played four years of varsity basketball and was team captain during her junior and senior seasons. Carolyn earned First Team All League and Honorable Mention All State honors at guard in her last two seasons and played a key role on the 1991 Regional runner-up team.

Carolyn Long-Lenz owns several individual and team state championships in track and field. The 1993 Fenwick graduate was a three-sport athlete for the Falcons. She played soccer and basketball, but it was on the track where she dominated. Carolyn was a three-time state champion in the 800-meter run winning the title in 1991, 1992 and 1993. She also was a member of the four-time state champion 3,200-meter relay team in 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1993, and was a member of the two-time state champion 1,600-meter relay team in 1990 and 1991. Fenwick also was the Division III state team champions in 1993, finished as runners-up in 1991 and took fourth place in 1990. The Falcons were regional champions in 1990 as well. Carolyn was named to the Mid-Miami League first team all four years in track and was selected for the Midwest Meet of Champions in 1993 where she won the 800-meter title and was a member of the 3,200-meter relay team champions. Carolyn was a three-year starter on the soccer team earning MML first team honors in 1990, 1991 and 1992. She also was a three-year starter in basketball earning MML first team honors in 1992 and 1993. Carolyn went on to compete in cross country and track at the University of Notre Dame where she was a member of the Midwest Collegiate Conference team championships in both sports, in back-to-back seasons.
