Jodi Praete Brown Graduated 1996 Inducted 2011
Jodi was an outstanding soccer player for Fenwick, lettering on the varsity for all four years. She was an excellent defender with speed & quickness, and possessed superior ball skills to get the ball to her teammates.

Jodi was a captain both her junior and senior years. In her senior season the Fenwick defense allowed only 16 goals in the regular season, posting 7 shutouts, 2 of which were over state ranked teams. Over the course of the season ten of their opponents were ranked in the Cincinnati or Dayton area Top 10, three of which were state ranked. Jodi was the leader in this effort as she was always assigned the other team's best offensive player. An example would be the game against the Dayton area's leading scorer (82 goals in her 3 year career) and this was the only game in her career in which she did not score.

In her junior & senior years Jodi was named to both the first team MML All-league and the first team Division 2 Southwest District. In her senior season she was selected the Division 2 Southwest District Player of the Year and received First Team All-Ohio honors. Jodi was also selected to the McDonald's All Star Team for Ohio and was recognized by the National Women in Sports Day in 1996.

Upon graduation from Fenwick Jodi attended Capital University where she was a 4 year starter for the Women's soccer team. She was Ohio Athletic Conference Honorable Mention in 1997, second team All-OAC in 1998, and first team in 1999. She graduated in May 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Health & Physical Education. Jodi completed her Master's degree in General Education for Marygrove College in 2005. She plans to start work on an Intervention Specialist degree at the University of Cincinnati in 2012.

Jodi has been married to her husband Jay for ten years, and they have two sons, Jayce(6) and JJ(4). She began her teaching career as a Physical Education teacher at Franklin Heights High School in the Southwestern City School District. After two years she got the opportunity to transfer to the new high school in her district, Central Crossing, where she has been teaching ever since. Jodi started the girls soccer program at Central Crossing and coached the team from 2002-2005, when she became pregnant with her first child. In May 2010 she received the ONN Teacher of the Month award.

Jodi is an avid runner and loves to compete in triathlons. Most of these races raise money for breast cancer research at Ohio Stat's Comprehensive Cancer Center. In March of 2010 Jodi was diagnosed with stage II A positive breast cancer. After seven months of rigorous treatments of chemo, grueling radiation, surgeries, and medicine she has been cleared of this disease.
