Becky Bees Fiessinger Graduated 1981 Inducted 2011
Becky was an outstanding scholar-athlete with perfect attendance, graduating fifth in her class. She lettered every season in every sport that she played, which included basketball, track, and volleyball. In basketball, she played the forward position and was best known for her defensive prowess. In her junior & senior basketball seasons the Falcons went 43-6, winning two MML and two District championships. In track, Becky ran the 100, 220, & 440 plus the 440 relay & 880 relay. However, it was volleyball that was Becky's true love, and at what she really excelled. A career varsity starter and captain senior year, she was a fierce competitor who played all the way around as a southpaw, front row outside attacker, and a back row defensive player. In her final two season, the Falcons posted back-to-back undefeated regular seasons and a combined 46-2 record, one of the best two-season records in Fenwick sports history. This included two MML league championships, two District championships, and Fenwick's first regional championship and a state berth. Becky was selected first team MML her senior year. Ohio did not have district or state awards for volleyball until 1983. Becky was a three year member of the National Honor Society, a member of the drill team, and crowned Prom Queen her senior year. Upon graduation from Fenwick, Becky received a volleyball scholarship to attend Miami University, a top 20 Division I NCAA program. During her first year the team went 41-9, played in the NCAA tournament, and finished ranked 17th in the country. While at Miami she lettered all four years, was a Mid-American Conference Champion, earned Miami's Scholar-Athlete Award, made the Dean's List, and graduated with a degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. After college, Becky worked for Procter & Gamble and them Beecham Labs. After marriage, she earned a Nursing degree and became a certified nurse in the O.R. She continued to play many years of competitive volleyball with USVBA and also has qualified and played in a professional women's sand volleyball tournament. Becky has won several golf(club) championships; and has also hit an elusive HOLE-IN-ONE! If this is not enough, Becky owns a few USTA State Tennis Championships, and holds a 4.5 USTA (Tennis) ranking. Becky married her high school sweetheart, Tom Fiessinger, also a 1981 Fenwick graduate. They have two children: a daughter, Nicolette, who is a sophomore at Fenwick; and a son, Michael, who is in the 7th grade at Bishop Leibold. She has coached for the Dayton Juniors VBC, as well as many CYO and feeder volleyball teams. On a personal note, she adores cooking and being with her family. Becky has been active in her home parish of St.Henry's with meals for the homeless. She has shared her time and talents with various fundraisers, and at a local horse shelter.
